About Our Logo

  • Blue depicts the ocean and river tributaries that are so important to our region.
  • Green is an abstract of Virginia, reflective of where we are located.
  • The star denotes the geographic position of Trail757 in the state.
  • The white swoop represents Trail757 itself.
  • The shape signifies the three historic landing areas of the Virginia Company expedition prior to establishment at Jamestown (Cape Henry, Point Comfort & Claremont).
  • Trail757 Title is representative of the southeastern Virginia area also known as Hampton Roads or Tidewater. The 757 area code covers coastal Virginia and has emerged as a blanket nickname for the multiple communities that together form a historical and cultural hub.
  • The left side is intentionally blank – reserved space for our partner trails and future branches off the main trail system.

Trail757 traces the establishment of our nation as we sought freedom through the first landings, the first revolution, and the second revolution. As we know, freedom was not truly established until the actions of the Civil War started the process for freedom for all Americans, regardless of the color of our skin, religion or beliefs.

As this project highlights the history and diverse cultures of the region, it also brings health benefits, economic opportunities, and transportation alternatives to the communities of the 757. But even more importantly, it  allows us to interact with our neighbors and visitors, building a better understanding of each other and an instinctive desire to live in harmony.
